Jonathan Meyerhoff was born in Brooklyn in 1966 to Bonnie Jean and Harry John Meyerhoff. Harry and Bonnie met at the Julliard School of Music in the early 1950s and fell in love. They married and soon after teamed up to form the singing duo “The Carlyles.” After Harry suffered two heart attacks, they moved to the Catskill Mountains in 1969 when the area was booming with resorts and work for the colorful singing team.
Jonathan and his older brother Timothy were both introduced to the stage at a very young age (6 & 8 years old) singing songs from musicals and eventually playing guitar and singing as well. Throughout elementary and high school Jonathan performed with his parents, but also played the lead roll in the opera Amal and the Night Visitors at 11 and also performed in multiple musicals.
Jonathan went on to study music education with a classical guitar major at Schenectady County Community College. He finished his BA at The College of Saint Rose in Albany with jazz guitar performance focus studying with Jack Fragomeni.
Shortly after graduating from college, Jonathan married his high school sweetheart Linda Scott and moved to Ithaca NY where he pursued his musical career. Fast forward about 30 years and four children later, Jonathan now writes music and plays in a band with his wife Jai (formerly Linda) called Something More Than This.
